Harrie Notton
Over the past five years, I have had the privilege of spearheading the marketing efforts at WeAreWaterloo. During this time, I have developed a deep understanding of placemaking, place marketing and place activation and the essential role BIDs have in this space.
I love that my job affords me the opportunity to share authentic stories in creative ways, particularly in Waterloo – an area close to mine and my family’s hearts. Uncovering its hidden gems and watching different audiences fall in love with its quirks is a true passion of mine, and we’re enjoying experimenting with new platforms such as TikTok and micro-influencers to push the ‘Waterloo’ letter further and foster meaningful engagement for our levy payers.
Now, as the Chair of the Place Marketing Working Group, I am excited to create a friendly space where members can come together to share expertise, best practice and troubleshoot regularly. I'm so looking forward to getting started!

Jonathan Newman
After a 20-year career in retail store management, Jonathan Newman was appointed as Great Yarmouth’s town centre manager in 2002. He delivered the town’s first successful ballot for a five-year BID term in 2006 and has overseen three renewal ballots since then. As a predominantly retail BID area, a significant element of what Great Yarmouth BID (GYBID) delivers for its levy payers is around the Safe and Secure agenda.
Jonathan manages a team of town centre street wardens that combined with a town radio link, exclusion scheme and secure cloud-based offender database aims to promote a safe town centre for businesses and visitors alike. He is also responsible for managing the town’s CCTV system which is staffed 24/7 by dedicated CCTV operators who work closely with the street wardens, businesses, and police to monitor and deter crime across Great Yarmouth including its seafront, retail parks and town centre. Jonathan has been a Member of the IPM since 2008 and has served on The BID Foundation Council since it was established in 2018.
