The BID Foundation's research shows that over 60 BIDs across the UK are approaching a renewal ballot, at this critical juncture of COVID crisis and recovery.

___

The government has already taken action to delay forthcoming BID ballots in England, after work with the High Streets Task Force Sector Leaders Group, led by The BID Foundation, identified a risk to BIDs.

The government has put forward emergency legislation to allow a delay to ballots in England between now and 31 December 2020 until March 2021. This will help to ensure that they are conducted in a safe and effective way.

It is still up to BIDs and the ballot holder to agree the day of renewal ballots and some BIDs have held very successful ballots during the pandemic (see Nottingham BID).
