Data Controller
The Institute of Place Management is owned and operated by Manchester Metropolitan University. The University is registered as a Data Controller with the Information Commissioner’s Office (‘ICO’) and is responsible under the Data Protection Act 1998, and from May 2018, the General Data Protection Regulation for the use of personal data you submit to us.
Data Processing and Sharing
We process your personal data under the terms of our registration notice with the ICO and the University’s Data Protection Policy. Our ICO registration number is Z5710637.
We use your personal data to answer the enquiry or request you have made with us.If you have consented, we will also use your personal data to send you promotional marketing material about our courses, services and the benefits of membership with us. We do engage some third party providers to assist with the handling of requests from members or prospective members. Those third party providers include, but are not limited to MyKnowledgeMap Ltd, and Campaign Monitor.
Please note we may also share limited personal data with social media providers such as Facebook so that we may communicate our advertising to you on their platforms. You have the option of these adverts by amending your setting or preferences on the relevant social media platform.
Data Retention
The University will retain your personal data in accordance with the retention periods under the University’s Record Retention and Destruction Schedule.
Right to Access your Data
You have a range of rights in relation to your personal data including the right of access to your data. For further detail on your rights please refer to the University’s Data Protection Policy.
