Our Objectives

The Institute of Place Management is a professional network that creates positive impact and transformation in places through place-based research, education and knowledge exchange with a trusted and respected community of academics, students, practitioners, policy makers and local and central government.

Through the relationship with partners and key stakeholders regionally, nationally and internationally the Institute of Place Management provides leverage for Manchester Metropolitan University to consolidate its position as the international ‘go to’ body for place management and leadership.

• To support and inform Manchester Metropolitan University's research agenda through strong stakeholder engagement

• To ensure the maximum impact and reach of Manchester Metropolitan University's place-based research for the benefit of better and more sustainable places (nationally and internationally).

• To inform place-based curricula at Manchester Metropolitan University, and empowering members to become effective place leaders through enrolling for educational study and CPD opportunities.

• To increase Manchester Metropolitan University's economic and social impact, by utilising Manchester Metropolitan University's significant scale and breadth of activities for positive change and be a thought leader in place management research and education.
