Today (3rd July), the Prime Minister will announce a 10-year plan to “fundamentally rewire” the NHS in England, including 200 neighbourhood health centres to bring care closer to home and embed health in communities.

This reflects something IPM has long championed: that health and place are deeply connected, and the future of public health depends as much on strong high streets as on hospitals.

Against this backdrop, IPM was recently invited to an All Party Parliamentary Group discussion on Healthy Places at the House of Lords, represented by IPM Fellow Esther Worboys.
